Sponsors

Compsoc has been fortunate in finding a variety of organisations who have been prepared to help us in one way or another. Here we list a few of the major donors.

AMD

AMD donated a computer in Hilary 2002. Read the full report.

In Hilary 2007, they donated another computer, after the previous one lost its magic smoke.

WDR became involved with the society in 1998. They attended a few talks as guests, presented their own talk on "Big Brother" and subsequently donated a substantial amount of equipment to the society. This donation included two Sun UltraSparcs, a Hewlett-Packard C110 and a range of SCSI disk and tape drives. Read the report on this event.

Department of Atmospheric, Oceanic and Planetary Physics, Oxford University

In a clear-out of parts, the Department of Atmospheric, Oceanic and Planetary Physics allowed a group of mad Compsoc members to pillage a room of old computer equipment. In the two car loads removed there are a lot of parts which might have got into use by our members if not the Society.

Mondus

Mondus made a substantial cash donation of £500. This was used in the celebrations of Compsoc's twenty first anniversary in 2000 as well as to cover general running expenses.
